ISO/IEC 17025:2017

General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories
We are proud to say that Solidbase is the first laboratory of its kind in Malta to obtain accreditation to this international standard.

No less than 36 accredited tests

Boasting the longest list of accredited tests in the local building and construction field, Solidbase's test results for these are comparable to any other accredited testing house and are recognized at a national and international level.

EN ISO/IEC 17025:2017 specifies the general requirements for the competence for sampling and carry out tests and calibrations. It covers sampling testing performed using standard, non-standard methods, and laboratory-developed methods.

ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Conformity assessment—Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing inspection
Solidbase is also the first laboratory in the building and construction industry in Malta to obtain accreditation to this international standard.

Accredited inspections

Such accreditation promotes confidence in Solidbase as an inspection body and items inspected, it ensures exercise of professional judgement in performing inspections, impartiality, and consistency of inspection activities.

EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 specifies requirements for inspection bodies to create confidence and accuracy in performing inspections of materials, products, or work procedures based on technical competence and recognition of good practice.

We have started with the basic inspections for trenching, reinforcement, shuttering, concreting, and construction in masonry. We will gradually grow this list to cover a full range of inspections. Please feel free to download our accreditation scope or contact us to find out more.

ISO 14001 is an international standard defining requirements for environmental management systems. It helps improve environmental performance through efficient use of resources and reduction of waste. Solidbase laboratory is looking to implement this standard in the near future.

ISO 18001 is the standard covering health and safety management systems. ISO 18001 status is awarded to organisations who successfully implement the health and safety management systems required by this standard. Solidbase has its eyes on achieving this accreditation in due course.
